What is the free market?
According to the provisions of the European Union, for some years in Italy in common with the rest of the continent, all domestic and non-domestic consumers can freely decide who to buy electricity and gas from and on what conditions for their homes.
Those exerting this right are acting in the so-called free market in which it is clients who decide which retailer or type of contract to opt for and when to change over, selecting whatever offer seems most interesting and affordable to them. It is a voluntary, non-binding choice.
End clients who do not exert this right or cannot do so will have the authority’s financial and contractual conditions apply to them.
